Down to Earth

Cornflakes Cookies

Wednesday, 30 April 2008
Dear Bloggy,

An extra post for today. I'm supposed to do revision right? But my heart was not into it instead I went down to the kitchen and started making cookies! So here the results:

I have messed up the table!

Baked Cookies. Yummy! It is you know.

Wang Wen can't stop eating them.

Right, now I've got mood to study. Jia You!!!

Yesterday and Today

Dear Bloggy,

Nothing much. Just want to share thoughts and what I've done yesterday and today. I have submitted my essay on International Sales Law yesterday and I found out that I was the fourth person to hand in so felt very please. Also, I made 'pengat pisang' for myself and Wang Wen as she has promised to write at least 1000 words for her essay (actually she didn't but nvm).

Started to choose question for the Competition Law in Global Economy exam and life is getting so boring. Sigh...

Today, this afternoon, went for swimming. I made 30laps which equal to 750m. Sigh... didn't pass my target for 1000m. When I got back home, I was exausted and took 3 hours nap. Seriouly tired. Now I'm ok. What I'm going to do now is just revision and more revision. Sigh... life indeed is getting boring.

Oh ya, something that I need to clarify about my previous post on "The Quran: It's a book of law". There was one part I mentioned about wearing scarf. Well, I think I have to make some research and clarify that statement because probably I might get it wrong. Not now of course. Too busy. Will keep that for later post.

P/S: Really hope miracle to happen soon.

Enjoying the Warm Spring

Saturday, 26 April 2008
Dear Bloggy,

I woke up at 8am, took shower and concentrated on my International Sales essay. As I've promised Ema that I will do my work then later at 3pm we went out for walking. It was a great warm and sunny day. I would say the best spring weather I ever had so far.

Ema said it was a waste if we didn't go out and I agreed with her. At 3.05pm, I met Ema at her flat and we walked down by the lake and make a huge round and I really have no idea where we were heading.

Then we stopped and sat watching a baseball friendly match (if Chiung Hui was there. He really likes baseball).

After that,we walked to Earlham Park towards the law school.

I showed Ema the secret garden hiden behind the law school.

This is my law school. Can you believe? It looks like an old mansion.

Road to the secret garden.

The lavender's leaf

We saw lots of lavender plants but there was no flowers bloom yet only the leaves. We picked the leaves and smell. Really soothing like the theraphy lavender smell.

Ema was telling lots and lots of stories about nature and her experience living in caravan etc. I really enjoyed listening to her amazing stories. She such an adventurous and lively person who loves peace and nature. Around 5pm, both of us started to feel hungry and as we have planned, we were planning to have tea break together at her place. Ema served me warm muffins with vanilla ice-cream. YUmmy!!! and also, I had rosy hibicus herbal tea. Nice :) Later, Ema's flatmates came into the kitchen, a KUwait guy (I can't remember his name) and Emily with her guitar. The Kuwait guy was telling us some stories about his experience of 13 years lived in war environment between Iraq and Kuwait. He looked sad and almost wanted to cry when he told us the stories. I was quiet and speechless, really dunno what to response. I could see the pain in his eyes. Emily then came over with her guitar asking Ema to teach her. Wow, I didn't know Ema knows how to play guitar. Well, she played few songs and sang.

I tried to play the guitar (Emily let me while waiting for Ema to take something from her room) but my hands were sucks. Seriously, the guitar class that I went was worthless because I can't remember at all. Oh my God.

My break time ended at 9pm. Yeah, I went back home at 9pm. It was really a nice day today. Happy!

Friday Night

Friday, 25 April 2008
Dear Bloggy,

An unexpected invitation by Ema today. She invited me to watch movie with her and we had dinner together before the movie at 7.30pm. I cooked Roti Jala with Vegetables curry because Ema is vegetarian. She eats egg though as her meat. She said the meal was nice and I was pleased as that was the first time I made vegetables curry.

We watched a british film which I'm not sure whats the title but it was an interesting movie. I think the film was shot in London and Russia. It was mix of sad and thriller elements in it. The killing part was really disgusting and I saw man naked 100% for the first time in that movie. Crazy lah...

Anyway, I had fun this evening. Tomorrow, Ema and me are planning to have tea break together. I'm going to make cucur for her.

My Supervisor is...

Thursday, 24 April 2008
Dear Bloggy,

Great news. Clara called me and told me that Mr Morten has allocated us with our own disertation supervisor! Guess who I got? It's DR.Michael Harker. Exactly in my dream that I had few weeks ago. Hehe. Cool heh? My essay is almost finish around 2000 words to go BUT I really need to do lots of editting before giving to Vanita for proof reading.

P/S: Wonder how when Vanita has gone back to S'pore. Who's going to proof reading my disertation? Sigh... Another thing, why on earth that my dreams have always come true. Scary lah...

A 'sonnet' for me?

Wednesday, 23 April 2008
Dear Bloggy,

Someone made me a 'sonnet' expressing his feelings. So nice and sweet :) I was blushed seriously but remained cool. Here the sonnet goes:

Can’t close my lid down shut
Contained by this coop up cloud
Lying alone in the darkness shroud,
My heart's aching, crying loud
She came crashing out of nowhere
Leave me without a breath to spare
She shines with might and glare
And all I could do is just stared
To feel the warmth but I don’t dare
Yet still I chase for all I care
She’s too far, far away
But I’m here counting days
She'd turn the colour from grey
For each second chanting the pray
Pray that she'd here to stay
So it will be bright all day
Is she the one I long craved?
But maybe I’m not that brave
And the time she gave
I don’t want to waste
Maybe I should be in haste

Thank you to that person :)

Ever Ever After

Tuesday, 22 April 2008
Dear Bloggy,

Me and cartoon story again. I really dunno when I gonna get rid of my habit of watching cartoon movies especially the disney production. Anyway, I found nice music video taken by the movie Enchanted and paste the lyric here. If you're bored play this song and hopefully it'll make your day happier :D

Good night!

Ever, Ever After
Storybook endings, fairy tales coming true
Deep down inside we want to believe they still do
In our secretest heart it's our favourite part of the story
Let's just admit we all want to make it too

Ever ever after
If we just don't get it our own way
Ever ever after
It may only be a wish away

Starting your fashion, wear your heart on your sleeve
Sometimes you reach what's real just by making believe
Unafraid, unashamed
There is joy to be claimed in this world
You even might wind up being glad to be you

Ever ever after
Though the world will tell you it's not smart
Ever ever after
The world can be yours if you let your heart
Believe in ever after

No wonder your heart feels it's flying
Your head feels it's spinning
Each happy ending's a brand new beginning
Let yourself be enchanted, you just might break through

To ever ever after
Forever could even start today
Ever ever after
Maybe it's just one wish away
Your ever ever after
Ever ever ever after

(I've been dreaming of a true love's kiss)

Oh, for ever ever after

Cellidh Party

Saturday, 19 April 2008
Dear Bloggy,

I really had fun this evening! Well, of course I'm supposed to do my coursework but taking a break won't harm anything right? So, Lucia, her friend Seven, Vanita and me got tickets to the Cellidh Party at the UEA Studio. Cellidh is kinda 300 years old English dance, you know like the one in Pride and Prejudice and those old English movies. Many people turned up this evening were mostly international students-Europeans, Chinese, Japanese etc. And I even socialised and got to know some girls from France and Belgium.

There were acoustic music with countryside tunes and some singing performance from talented people. Sometimes, I think they were creative because they not actually follow the rule of music to sing but they were really performers who enjoy showing people their talents. Great right? While the audiences were great too, very supportive indeed.

The nicest thing was to learn the dancing steps. I learnt the English steps, French steps and Waltz! I dance until I got really sweaty and warm (also, it's because I was wearing two layers of clothes).
If you could see me in one of these pictures, I was actually concentrating, learninng the steps.
These people were trying to demonstrate the French culture dance. It was funny, seriously. I was laughing until when I took picture the camera was shaking and thats why the picture looks a little bit blurr.

Alright then, time to take shower!

Deeper Conversation

Thursday, 17 April 2008
Dear Bloggy,

First of all, my writing is like in a very SLOW progress. I have 10 days left and only have written 430 words and there's more to go. Sigh... But the good thing is, I feel the preassure now and hopefully this preassure will push me to do better for my coursework.

This coming Saturday, there's some kinda English party where there'll be dancing and more dancing (I hope) and I'm really looking forward to it. Can't wait!

Also, not to forget lyric of the song in my blog as Vanita has requested.

Is your favourite colour blue?
Do you always tell the truth?
Do you believe in outerspace?
And i'm learning you

Is your skin as tanned as mine?
Does your hair flow sideways?
Did someone took a portion of your heart?
And i'm learning you

And if you don't mind
Can you tell me
All your hopes and fears
Everything that you believe in
Would you make a difference in the world
I'd love for you to take me to a deeper conversation
Only you can make me

I let my guard down for you
And in time you will too

Love Gives Love Takes

Sunday, 13 April 2008
Dear Bloggy,

I have drafted my essay, the planning I mean BUT the points, hmm not sure whether it's enough or good. Anyway, I can feel the preassure of the deadline now. At the same time, I keep listening to this song called 'love gives love takes' by the Corrs.
Check out the lyric:

Just when I thought I was safe,
You found me in my hiding place,
I'd promised never again
I wouldn't give my heart, but then
Closer, closer I moved near you
The way I want you makes me fear you

Love breaks and love divides
Love laughs and love can make you cry
I can't believe the ways
That love can give
And love can take away

I find it hard to explain
It's crazy, but it's happening
And I'm falling again
Much further than I've ever been
I'm falling deeper than the ocean
I am lost in this emotion

Love breaks and love divides
Love laughs and love can make you cry
I can't believe the ways
That love can give
And love can take away
Love can give
And love can take away

Love breaks and love divides
Love laughs and love can make you cry
love can make you cry I can't believe the ways
That love can give
And love can take away
Love breaks and love divides
Love laughs and love can make you cry
I can't believe the ways
That love can give
And love can take away

P/S: Will my feelings be like in this song???

Thunderstorm

Saturday, 12 April 2008
Dear Bloggy,

For the first time in my whole life living in the UK I heard a thurderstorm. It happened yesterday with heavy rain. In fact, it disturbed the internet server caused all servers down including the Openlink wireless. I was really bored to death! I know I have coursework to do but without it how am I supposed to look for sources. Sigh...

I've been keeping in touch with a guy. I don't know whether I have fall for him but I like to talk to him. Seems like I'm addicted to him. Aiyo!

Opportunities

Thursday, 10 April 2008
Dear Bloggy,

Whats going on? I've been seeing many opportunities in front of me. First, there's studentship adevertisement from UEA, second scholarship advertisement from King's College and now advertisement of Doctoral assistanship from Liverpool University (thanks to Dr. Arianna for informing me that). The thing is that the due date for those application is so near that I hardly have time to mentally consider about it. I mean the offers are very tempting but I don't have the guts to apply because I'm not that confident. Sigh... Many things to think. Also, I'm not sure whether UITM will allow me to do so.

Snow, Snow go away come again another day, little Ernie wants to play

Monday, 7 April 2008
Dear Bloggy,

For the past few days, the temperature is getting low and snow alot too but the snow never settled. Sigh... I really have no idea whats going with the UK weather this year. Very weird lah... It's supposed to be spring now. However, it looks like the Snow Queen is not yet satisfied in producing her snow. Even Southampton experienced snow this year. What??!!

The picture of snow rain I took during weekends.

Another hot news nowdays is about Sufiah Yusof, the genius maths kiddo. Imagine she entered Oxford University when she was 13 years old? My God, crazy. She went missing in year 2000 and now they have found her. How genius she is, sadly, she choosed prostitution as her career path. I was thinking, being a genius also is a trouble what else if one is dumb?

Everyday also is just another day.

Thursday, 3 April 2008
Dear Bloggy,

Sorry for neglected you with no updates about myself. Today, finally, I felt more motivated to do my coursework. Right now, feel a little confuse of which question should I do. Time is very limited, I know but both were quite tough questions. Sigh...

Currently, I'm listening to a song from McFly title "You've got a Friend". The lyric of this song is very touched. So for my friends who consistently read my blog, this I dedicated to you guys.

When you're down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights.

You just call out my name,
And you know wherever I am
Ill come running, oh yeah baby
To see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
All you have to do is call
And Ill be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You've got a friend.

If the sky above you
Should turn dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
And soon I will be knocking upon your door.
You just call out my name and you know where ever I am
Ill come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call
And Ill be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend?
People can be so cold.
They'll hurt you and desert you.
Well they'll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but don't you let them.

You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
Ill come running to see you again.
Oh babe, don't you know that,
Winter spring summer or fall,
Hey now, all you've got to do is call.
Lord, Ill be there, yes I will.
You've got a friend.
You've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
You've got a friend.
